Keeping Up Our Averages
Continuing our active but calculated buying at the 2018 yearling sales, DGR procured a further 6 yearlings from the Easter sessions I & II totalling a spend of $1,390,000. We were in line with the overall averages of the sale with $356,666 for session I compared with $347,634 or the overall sale and $106,660 vs the overall average of $117,500 for session II. But like earlier sales we do not think our horses were average at all to their peers! They are listed here with links to the Inglis website for those curious to see more Read more....
The most recent weeks have seen some of our previous purchases combine in the breeding shed to produce their own significant winners. Eurozone & Soft Landing combined to produce Cinderella Stakes Listed winner Krone putting first crop sire Eurozone on the map as a sire more than just being a name. Our former star So You Think, still flying the flag as Australia most successful racing export, combined with another former Group 1 winner Russeting to produce the very promising Ridicule who will be seen in stakes company in his own right very soon.
Sale ring graduates to win in the past weeks include Read more....
Weighing Into The New Zealand Market
Karaka 2018 has netted six new yearlings to join our now expanded list of trainers. All six are by champion, group 1 producing or burgeoning on track performers. This sale we have taken the step to take some of the guesswork out of purchases sticking with sires with the aforementioned on track records to be guided by. This team averaged NZ$203,333 with a median of $205,000. Our new stable of NZ’ers are Read more....
Still Punching In Heavyweight Contest
In our own right and in association with some of our “stable” of trainers, DGR was able to procure seven yearlings at a fiercely competitive and record making Magic Millions 2018 on the Gold Coast last week. Our seven averaged $137,142 which comes in very satisfactorily with the overall average of the sale of 225,831. Not that we think our horses are less than average or any way inferior to the “big bangers” but we believe in some restraint and the statistical pricing of the origins of the nation’s best horses. Our purchases were: - Read more....

Sebring colt wins for China Horse Club
13 June 2017
The China Horse Club celebrated a Warwick Farm victory on Monday with a promising staying type by Sebring.
Two year-old colt Heliosphere was fourth on debut at Randwick over 1400 metres at his first start last month and his trainer Gerald Ryan had no hesitation stepping him up to 1600 metres for his second assignment.
The baldy faced bay led throughout and despite wanting to over race in patches, he found the line like a tiger to hold off determined Foxwedge filly African Rainbow to win by a half head with nearly seven lengths back to the third horse. Read more....

When the James Cummings-trained Exceeds opened her winning account in Saturday's Australian Fire Hose Plate (1000m) at Randwick, she became the 16th two-year-old winner by Snitzel in Australia this season. That's ten more than his closest pursuers.
