A chestnut two year old filly by the U.S. racehorse and Kentucky Derby Gr1 hero FUSAICHI PEGASUS USA) from the highly credentialled and succesful race filly Embraceable You (NZ).
Embraceable You (NZ) raced 12 times, winning on debut at Geelong over 1200m. She followed that up with a 3rd and 5th placings before runnning 4th in the Listed Rosemount Stakes at Moonee Valley followed a week later with a 3rd also in Listed company at Flemington in the spring of 2001. This was all in her very first racing preparation.

Embraceable You resumed her career with an impressive first up win at Flemington as favourite under Stephen Arnold in the Mark Sensing on Australian Cup day.

Embraceable You after winning at Flemington.

There was now quite a strong impression of the filly and she sent to Adelaide to contest the Australasian & S.A Oaks both at Group 1 level. Highly fancied for these races she received a chequered passages in all her Adelaide assigments for 5th Lakewood Stud Stakes Gr3, 7th Australasian Oaks Gr1 & 8th S.A. Oaks Gr1.

She never really recovered from the injuries sustained in that Adelaide campaign and was retired to stud after two further starts in Melbourne later in 2002. Bred to Kentucky Derby Gr1 winner Fusaichi Pegasus in 2002, she produced this filly her first foal in 2003. She has since produced a colt in 2004 by Elusive Quality, sire of Kentucky Derby Gr1 winner Smarty Jones and is due in 2005 to Australia's own champion stallion and sire of Gr1 heroine Alingi in Encosta De Lago.

Head study of Embraceable You

This partnership filly will forever be a half sister to some of the best bred siblings available while she herself boasts parentage of the best classic blood. Moreover the stakesperformed Embraceable You is a half sister to Epsom Hcp Gr1 winner ALLEZ SUEZ, a female line decendant of one of New Zealand's greatest sources of classic blood in the champion sire Sovereign Edition. The famed Pencarrow Stud in New Zealand has developed much of the family which includes South Australian Oaks Gr1 winner MARMALITRE and outstandin race mare of ther time MUN LEE.

Her sire Fusachi Pegasus was a US$4.5 million dollar yearling with obvious looks and pedigree to macth. he justified his enormous price tag by winning North America's greatest race the KentuckY Derby in scintilating style. He dubbed "Superman" for his talent & looks and syndicated for stud duties in a deal worth 10s of millions he has started his stud career in a very strong fashion.

Full details can be better explained via the links below but he has already in a young career at stud produced major Group winners already in both the Northern Hemisphere and on the domestic scene in Australia. Recent fillies sired by Fusaichi Pegasus to win impressively in Australia like Pure Joy, Mary Marvel &  Pegasus Queen suggest he has quite an affinity as a filly sire. His best representative in the States is arguably the very talented Gr1 winner ROMAN RULER.

What is extemely interesting to note, and intentionally mirrored in this filly's pedigree through Embraceable You's classic winning sire RODRIGO DE TRIANO, is that out of Fusaichi Pegasus' northern hemisphere stakes winners, five are out of Northern Dancer-line mares. In his inital southern hemisphere crop, two of his leading stakes winners FLYING PEGASUS (dam by Danehill) & DR GREEN (dam by Last Tycoon) are also out of a Northern Dancer-line mare in Cashier (By Danehill).
